4 cup flour
1 cup oil (or lard or shortening - do not use butter)
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cup milk

FILLING:
1 cup brown sugar
2 T flour
4 tsp. cinnamon
4 T melted butter
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients for filling and set aside. Sift together flour and baking powder, mix in oil until mixture has a fine even crumb. (Mix by hand). Add sugar and mix well. Add beaten egg and milk, mixing lightly until all ingredients are combined together. Spread 1/2 batter in a greased baking pan. Sprinkle batter with 1/2 filling mixture, add remaining batter and sprinkle remaining filling over the top. Bake at 375º for 25-35 minutes.
