1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup shortening
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cup flour
1 cup raisins
2/3 cup sour milk or buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, spices and soda. Cream shortening sugar and egg together. Add to sifted ingredients. Add milk a little at a time. Beat thoroughly, fold in raisins. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes or until done.
