2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
3 c. Quick oatmeal [or 4 c. if you are omitting the coconut]
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine oatmeal and coconut and set aside
2. Mix together the first 4 ingredients and bring to a rolling boil
3. Remove from heat
4. Stir in vanilla
5. Stir in the oatmeal and coconut mixture [if you opted to omit coconut add the Quick oats
6. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet

Kurtsey notes that these are a favorite of John Travnicek's. Also, Kurtsey notes that she made these a lot with Lyle when Mom and Dad went to their card parties! Ha-Ha!
Jeanie notes that this mixture always set up fast for her so I poured the mixture into a 9X13 pan and I also made them when Mom and Dad were out playing cards! Mother was often seen snacking on them in the morning when we were eating breakfast before getting on the bus.
