Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbs cocoa
5 tbs salad oil
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Place all dry ingredients into an ungreased 8x8 pan. Mix these together thoroughly. Make small indentations in mixture with a spoon. Into one place oil, place vinegar, and into a third place vanilla. Pour water over all, and mix well. Bang firmly on a table to break excess bubbles (hence the name!). Bake 30 to 40 min at 350 or until done. When cool, frost with creamy chocolate frosting.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is one of my husband's favorites from way back. His mom, Mrs. Louise Reitz, used to get him or another of the kids to help by mixing the dry ingredients together. I love this cake, not only because I love chocolate, but also because it's so easy to make. It can be mixed, baked and served, all in the same pan. It can be doubled and mixed in a 9x13 pan.
