1 lb. orange slice candy, cut up
1 (8oz) pkg chopped dates
½ c. flour
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. coconut
Mix all ingredients well and set aside

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
½ c. buttermilk
3 ½ c. sifted flour
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, gradually add sugar, the eggs (one at a time); beat well after each addition.
Mix baking soda in the milk.
Add alternately with the flour and salt.
Add candy mixture.
Pour into greased and floured bundt or angel food can.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
While cake is baking make the glaze.

Orange Slice Candy Cake Glaze
1 c. orange juice
2 c. sifted powdered sugar.
Mix together. After the cake is baked and still hot; punch holes in the cake with a toothpick, pour the juice and sugar mixture over the cake.
Let stand overnight in the refrigerator.
