2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
11/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening or butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup BOILING water
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Put all ingredients. except the eggs, in a mixing bowl. Add the boiling water and mix until butter is melted. Add eggs and beat for 2 minutes. Pour batter in a 13x9 baking pan and bake for 30 minutes. Cool and frost if desired.

This cake is GREAT without frosting. You can serve with ice cream as well.
