6 qts. popped corn

2 c. brown sugar
1/2 lb. margarine
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients (not pop corn). Stirring constantly, boil to hard ball stage (260º). Remove from heat, stir in soda (may bubble up), quickly pour over pop corn, stir gently. Bake 1 hr. at 200º, stirring 2 or 3 times. Turn out on wax paper and spread apart, let cool.

Grandpa Herby used to make this every year for Christmas. He would have garbage bags full of it to give out to friends and family. I used to get into a lot of trouble sneaking into it, I didn't care it was worth it!
