4 or 5 pork steaks or chops
1 T cooking oil
3/4 tsp. dried basil
salt and pepper
1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches (2 cups)
1 T vinegar
2 beef bouillon cubes (crushed)
1 T cornstarch
1 T water
2 tsp. parsley
rice

Directions:
Directions:
In large skillet brown meat in oil; drain off fat. Sprinkle with basil, salt and pepper. Drain peaches, reserving syrup; add water to syrup to measure 1 1/2 cup. Add syrup mixture, vinegar, and bouillon cubes to skillet. Cover and simmer 45 to 60 minutes or until meat is tender. Add peach slices and simmer 5 minutes more. Arrange meat atop a platter of hot rice. Keep platter warm. Stir together cornstarch and water; add to skillet. Cook and stir until it has thickened; stir in parsley. Spoon some sauce atop the meat; pass remaining.
