3 tbsp minced shallots
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 c olive oil
5 large ripe beefsteak or heirloom tomatoes, cut into 1/2 in. slices
2 tbsp rinsed salt packed capers
Black pepper
10 fresh basil leave torn

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shallots, vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt and sugar in a small bowl. Gradually whisk in oil to blend. Set vinaigrette aside.
Arrange tomatoes on a platter. Sprinkle capers on top; season with salt and pepper to taste. Scatter basil over slices. Whisk vinaigrette again; drizzle over salad
