cucumbers
1/2 onion, sliced thin
Celery seed
Salt
Sugar
Vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and thinly slice cucumbers
Slice 1 onion
Place in glass bowl
Sprinkle 2 T salt over veggies
Cover with water
Weigh the cucumbers down with a saucer or bowl
Leave overnight

Next day...Rinse many times over and over to get the salt off
Place in a bowl ( not metal)
Make a solution of sugar, vinegar, and water to taste.
Approximately a 1 vinegar to 6 sugar ratio
It takes a lot of sugar to make it sweet
Sprinkle the top with celery seeds to taste.
Refrigerate for a couple hours before serving.

Mom made these when we were growing up...we all loved them!
She taught me how to make them... Now I make them for all of my friends with cucumbers from my garden!
