1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 T milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. cream of tarter * if you double recipe use only 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla. Add in dry ingredients.
Chill 2-3 hours
Use your favorite cut-outs. We like thick cookies! I cut-out about 1/4 inch thick.
Bake for 425 on greased cookie sheet for 5 minutes.. I use parchment paper.
Use your favorite icing and decorate.

This recipe was given to me over 30 years ago by my friend Leslie Wilson. She used to make them every Christmas for George and Katy. After Leslie's sister Lindsey died, Leslie gave me the recipe. My dear friend Leslie passed away in 2014. I still have the original recipe card she gave me. I make these cookies every year to honor her.
