3/4 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening or margarine
1 beaten egg
1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
3-3 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat first four ingredients to dissolve. Stirring. Cool and then add beaten egg.
2. Dissolve dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Add.
3. Add flour. Beat as long as possible to mix. It will be sticky.
4. Put into large greased bowl (4-6 quart size). Cover bowl tightly. Refrigerate overnight or at least six hours.
5. Roll onto floured board. Cut into shapes or place balls in muffin tins.
6. Add a spoonful of melted margarine and poppy seeds or sesame seeds (or any other if you like).
7. Place out of draft for two hours to rise. Warm area is best.
8. Bake at 400 degrees 10-12 minutes.

You can use this dough for sweet rolls or any shape. You can use part and leave part in the fridge or bake and freeze the rolls.
