2/3 c. butter, melted
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chocolate chips
chopped nuts, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Add brown sugar to melted butter. Cool. Add egg and vanilla to mixture and blend well. Add sifted dry ingredients gradually. Add nuts. Pour mixture into a greased 9x13" pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips on top. Add nuts if desired. Bake at 350º for 20- 25 minutes. When cooled, cut into squares.

For dessert, this recipe found it's way into our lunch boxes and picnic lunches probably more than any other. It's easy to make and we all loved it.
