2 green peppers, chopped
3 TB shortening
1 lb. Hamburger

½ c. uncooked rice (¾ c. rice with tomato juice)

2 tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion and pepper slowly in shortening until onions are yellow. Add hamburger and tomato sauce until the mixture falls apart. Add tomatoes, rice, and seasonings. Arrange in large casserole dish, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until rice is soft.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Mom's suggestions: Cook onions and peppers without shortening while browning hamburger; add 1 – 2 tablespoons sugar, use quart of tomato juice and increase rice to ¾ cup.

After browning the hamburger, I've added everything to my rice cooker and it comes out just right -- the rice is always cooked that way.
