1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 cup raisins
1 cup finely chopped apple

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and mix. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet and bake 10 to 15 minutes in a 350º oven. These are good plain or frosted.
