1 can evaporated milk
1 1/2 - 2 c shredded cheddar cheese
Butter
Salt
Pepper

Directions:
Heat oven to 350º
Grease 9 X 12 baking dish
Peel enough potatoes to fill pan 3/4 full, or if you prefer, you can leave the skins on.
Slice potatoes and place several layers in pan, and then add a few T. of butter and shake a little salt and pepper, continue to fill pan with sliced potatoes. Pour 1 can of evaporated milk on top, then add a few T. of butter. Shake a little salt and pepper, cover with aluminum foil and place in oven for 45 minutes. Take foil off and cover with cheese, and place in oven for an additional 10 minutes. Serve while hot.
