3 c. sugar
¾ c. orange juice
¾ c. cranberry juice
zest of one large orange

Directions:
Prepare the orange zest by grating with the fine side all the skin from the orange. Only the white should remain when you are finished.
Wash and cull out bad cranberries from bags.
Combine all ingredients, EXCEPT THE CHERRIES, in a large heavy pot. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Lower temperature and cook about 10 minutes until the berries start popping open. Remove from heat. Use a metal spoon to skim off foam and discard.
Stir in cherries and let the mixture cool. Pour into serving dish and refrigerate 3-4 hours before serving.
