1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening (butter flavored Crisco)
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
3 3/4 - 4 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs, mix. Add buttermilk, mix. Add dry ingredients. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours. May be dropped on cookie sheet, press lightly down with fork, sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350º for 5-6 minutes.
