Ingredients: 1 lb Hamburger meat 1 tsp each: Italian seasoning, oregano, garlic powder, salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 cup mixture: onions, mushrooms, bell pepper (your preference) 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded) 1 package bread dough (from frozen food section)

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º
There really isn't a written version for this recipe. Your Dad learned it by trial & error. But from what I remember: Brown the hamburger along with the seasonings, drain. Add the vegetables & set aside. Take the bread dough & divide it in half, then roll it out as you would for a pizza. Grease a 9X11 pan & line it with half of the dough. Layer the meat over this & then layer the cheese over the meat. Finally, top with the other half of the dough. Go along the edges & pinch the dough together to seal. Take a small knife & cut small slits on the top of the pie. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the dough is a golden brown.
I can't remember if he added a little of his "pizza sauce" to the meat. His sauce was 2 small cans tomato sauce, 1 small can tomato paste, 1 teaspoon each Italian seasoning, oregano (he LOVED oregano), & garlic powder. Heat this through. He used this for pizza. |

Notes: His first attempt at this was HORRIBLE - he didn't brown the hamburger first, so we had a giant casserole of inedible mush! Have to give him credit, though. Over the years - he perfected this recipe. He even made his own dough from scratch!
