2 C. White Flour
1 C. Wheat Flour
4 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
2 T. Sugar
1/2 Tsp. Salt
3/4 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1/2 C. Butter softened
1 Egg
1 C. Milk

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles course cornmeal. If melted butter is used it will stir in fine with the wet ingredients.

Add egg and milk, stirring quickly and briefly. Flatten out on floured board and knead extra flour only enough to coat the entire dough surface top and bottom.

Roll or pat with flattened palm of hand into 1 1/2inch thickness. Use round biscuit cutter or round glass to make circles. Place on greased iron skillet or cake pan. For crusty biscuits separate on cookie sheet to bake.

Bake 350 º for 12-15 minutes.

This is so easy and much better than biscuit from a refrigerated can. Takes minutes to prepare and they are wonderful. These can also be made with all white flour if desired. Cover with sausage gravy or eat with butter and honey or jams.
