1 (5 pound) standing rib roast
1 tablespoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Mix together salt, pepper and garlic powder, set aside. Let roast sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Rub roast with seasoning mixture; place roast on a rack in the pan with the rib side down and the fatty side up. Roast for 1 hour, turn off oven, leave roast in oven but do not open oven for 3 hours. About 30 to 4 minutes before serving time, turn oven to 375º and re-heat the roast.
