2 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
6 T. butter, chilled
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. dried cranberries

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400F. In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Cut butter into 1/2 inch cubes and distribute over the flour mixture. With a pastry blender, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir together the buttermilk, egg and vanilla. Add to the flour mixture. Stir in the cranberries. With lightly floured hands, pat the dough into a n 8" diameter circle on an ungreased cookie sheet. With a serrated knife, cut into 8 wedges. Move the wedges apart slightly; bake 18-20 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and serve warm.
