Hanover Tomato Pie Recipe

Deep dish pie shell
oregano
basil
garlic
Italian seasoning
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Approximately 4 sliced and drained Hanover tomatoes
1/2 lb super lean ground beef ( optional )
1/2 onion, minced ( optional )

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat 350º
If using ground beef and onion cook with a little oil until done, drain
Cook pie shells 1/2 way ( so the tomatoes won't make it soggy)
While they are cooking slice your tomatoes and drain juice off them ( I put them between paper towels)

First layer..
Tomatoes,, cover the whole bottom
Sprinkle your seasonings
Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese
Add ground beef mixture if using

Second layer..
Tomatoes
More seasonings
Top with cheese

Bake until golden brown
35-40 minutes
