2 1/4cups flour
2tsp ground ginger
1tsp baking soda
3/4tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp ground cloves
1/4tsp salt
3/4cup margarine,softened
1cup white sugar
1egg
1tbsp water
1/4cup molasses
2tbsp white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Sift together the flour,ginger,baking soda,cinnamon,cloves and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl,cream together the margarine and 1cup until light and fluffy. Beat in egg,then stir in water and molasses. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape into walnut sized balls,and roll into the remaining 2tbsp of sugar. Place the cookies 2inches apart onto an undressed cookie sheet,and flatten slightly.
Bake for 8to10 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
