2 (9 in.) Pillsbury frozen pie crusts
3 c. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. flour
½ c. real butter, softened (1 stick)
3 eggs
⅔ c. buttermilk
1 tsp. real Watkins vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.º

Bake pie crusts, once oven is preheated, for 5 minutes and then remove and let cool until custard is ready to be added.

Beat eggs in a separate bowl and set aside.

In medium bowl, blend, thoroughly, sugar, flour and butter. Slowly add eggs to mixture. Then add buttermilk and vanilla.

Pour mixture into pie crusts and bake 45 minutes-1 hour or until golden brown.

Let cool at least 1 hour before serving.

***This recipe makes two pies.

Every time I make this custard, I get requests to make more. The key is the real butter, not margarine. Using real butter takes these pies to another level. I've been told, "This is the best pie I've ever had in my life!"
