Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 small cake yeast (do not use dry, packaged yeast)
1 cup milk, scalded
3/4 cup sugar
6 3/4 cups flour
1 can evaporated milk, warmed
1 tablespoon butter, melted
2 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve sugar in warm milk. Crumble cake yeast into small pieces into the milk and sugar mixture.Set aside and allow yeast to activate. Warm the evaporated milk with the water and mix; keep warm on stove. Meanwhile, sift flour into a large bowl: add warm, evaporated milk/water mixture and melted butter. Mix well. Add beaten eggs, salt, and yeast mixture. Knead dough until smooth. Cover; let stand in a warm place for two hours. Turn out on floured surface and divide into six balls. Cover and let rise again for at least 15 minutes. Take each ball and stretch into "strands" of dough lengthwise. Braid 3 strands into one loaf (recipe will allow enough dough for two loafs each made with 3 strands.) Place in a greased "angel food" cake pan (for round bread), or you can place directly on a greased cookie sheet (for a long, straight loaf of bread.) Let rise until double in bulk. Brush with beaten egg yolks. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 1 hour.

Personal Notes:
For a SPECIAL Easter bread presentation, I dye 4 or 5 uncooked eggs in a natural egg dye. Place uncooked eggs between the braids (the eggs will cook as the bread bakes.) It makes a beautiful presentation of your Paska.
