1-1/4 c. sugar
1 c. softened butter
2 eggs, beaten
3 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Icing (enough for 1 batch)
3 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
little milk
food coloring

Directions:

Cream softened butter and sugar, add vanilla, beaten eggs and milk. Beat until smooth. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add flour, one cup at a time, beating smooth after each addition.
Refrigerate overnight w/cover. Seems too sticky to roll but it's okay. Flour surface and hands. Take a portion out so that it's easy to manage, sprinkle with flour so not sticky and roll out on floured surface. Don't roll extremely thin and make sure it's not sticking underneath at all times.
Cut with cookie cutters, place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 11-12 minutes. Do not let brown. Ice and decorate.

These freeze well if you make them to decorate later.
You really do think they're too sticky to roll when you take out of the frig. Just add flour to the outside until it's manageable.
