1 1/2 cups sugar
12 oz. sweet butter
3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon flour
3 eggs or 5 egg yolks
salt
lemon rind
cookie decorating sugars and sprinkles

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Butter, add sugar, eggs, rind, flour and salt. Let dough rest in the refrigerator for an hour. Cut out cookies using cookie cutters, place on ungreased cookies sheet. May paint with egg yolk or put sprinkles on top. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

A Swiss favorite Christmas cookie recipe that is fun to make with kids. The dough can be divided and baked over a few days. Nana would always spend one day with each of us to roll, cutout, decorate and bake these cookies.
