Directions:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. In separate bowl, mix boiling water, shortening, sugar and salt. To this mixture add 1 cup flour, egg and yeast mixture. Add another 3 cups flour a little at a time until able to knead. You may need a bit more flour if dough is sticky. Place in greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap or light towel. Let raise for 1 hour in warm place. Punch down and make dough balls about the size of a golf ball. Place in a greased baking pan with space between to allow for raising. I put mine on a 12x15 stone and get 20 rolls. Let raise 1 hour in a warm place. Bake at 350 to 375 for 10-13 minutes until they start to brown slightly. You can make dough balls in advance and refrigerate. Two hours before your meal, set out dough balls to raise at room temperature, bake as usual.
