CAKE:
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick margarine or butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

ICING:
1 stick margarine or butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 cup coconut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
CAKE: Sift sugar and flour together in a large bowl. Put margarine/butter, Crisco, water, and cocoa in a pan and bring to a big boil. Pour over sugar and flour. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, and vanilla and mix well. Pour into a 9"x13" cake pan or 13"x18" sheet pan. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.

ICING: Heat margarine/butter, cocoa, and milk together, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, chopped pecans, and coconut, if using these. Icing will be somewhat thin and you should be able to pour it over the warm cake, then spread it.
