Ingredients: 1.5 lbs beef - cut in strips 1/2 inch thick 8 oz fresh Mushrooms (2 1/2 cups) 2 medium Onions - thinly sliced Garlic Clove - finely chopped 1/4 cup Butter (or margarine) 1 1/2 cups Beef Broth 1/4 - 1/2 cup? Red Wine 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Black Pepper 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce 4 tbsp Flour
1 cup Sour Cream Shredded Cheese
3 cups hot cooked Egg Noodles

Directions: |
Directions:Cut meat across the grain into strips (1 1/2 x 1/2") and season with salt & pepper. In a large skillet on medium heat - melt butter & cook mushrooms, onions & garlic - stirring occasionally until the onions are tender - remove from skillet and set aside. Cook beef in the same skillet until brown, stir in 1 cup of the broth, salt & pepper, Worcestershire and red wine. (or add wine when adding onion mix to meat) Heat to boiling then put in crockpot on low & simmer for several hours. (may need additional liquid) 20 minutes or so before serving - stir remaining 1/2 cup broth into flour and stir into beef mixture in crock pot. Add onion mixture to meat mixture- allow to simmer for 20 mins.
Add sour cream and shredded cheese. Heat briefly. Salt & pepper to taste.
Serve over noodles (or with mashed potatoes). |
