2 lb.s ground beef
1 lb. Italian sausage
1 large sweet onion
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup dry red wine
fresh basil
fresh oregano
I can stewed Italian tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
4 to 6 cans of tomato sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef, sausage and onion in large frying pan. In a large pot combine beef, sausage, onion, garlic, basil, oregano, tomatoes, sugar, tomato paste, tomato sauce, spices and wine. Bring to a slight boil then turn down to low and simmer.

I like my sauce to cook for several hours either on the stovetop or crockpot on low.

I don't usually measure anything so these measurements are not written in stone! I like to taste throughout the day and add ingredients as needed.
