Bubby's Brisket Recipe

4-5 lb brisket (flat cut)
1-2 tsp salt and lots of pepper
onions
2-3T oil
1/2-3/4 package dry onion soup
1 C water

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onions, add to baking dish with 2-3 T oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and brown in oven at 350º.

Wash meat and dry, rub with fresh garlic, paprika, dry mustard and flour (sprinkle generously)

When onions are softened/browned place meat on onions, fat side up
Sprinkle with onion soup mix and add about 1 cup water.

Bake covered 30 minutes at 350 and then decrease oven temperature to
300º for an additional 3 hours

Remove from oven, cool, refrigerate and slice (may freeze at this point)

Squirt ketchup over top of sliced meat and cover loosely, bake at 300º for an additional 3 hours when ready to use.
