1 cup raisins
1 cup cut dates
1 cup prunes
1 cup coffee
1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbl lemon juice
1 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup Pillsbury Best flour
3/4 cup butter
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine in saucepan raisins, dates, prunes, coffee and 3/4 cup brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thick. Stir in lemon juice. Cool.
Combine in mixing bowl 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Cut in butter until
mixture is fine. Sprinkle walnuts over bottom of ungreased 13 x 9' pan. Sprinkle with 2 cups of the flour mixture; press down firmly. Combine in mixing bowl egg, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and buttermilk; beat well. Add remainder of crumb mixture, 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup sugar; mix throughly. Spread fruit mixture carefully over crumb mixture. Top with batter. Bake at 350o for 40 to 60 min. or until top springs back when touched lightly in center. Cut into small bars or squares and serve with sour cream or sweetened whipped cream or sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
