1 Cup all purpose flour
1 cup each whole wheat flour, rye flour, and rolled oats
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 3/4 Cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl combine flours, sugar, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt. add buttermilk and oil. Stir to make a soft dough. Turn onto floured board and knead 10 times until smooth. Shape dough into a circle, place on cookie sheet and cut a deep + in the top of the dough.
Bake 350ºF for approximately 30 minutes.

Tips: When you take the hot loaf from the oven, wrap it in a tea towel until it cools. This stops the crust from getting too hard.
Double recipe to make 2 loaves which will use up most of the litre of buttermilk.
Freezes well.
