1/2 cup sugar
2 2/12 to 3 cups flour, sifted
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1/2 lb. butter, softened

Filling:
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Extra:
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg white, beaten

Directions:
Mix cream cheese and butter until blended. Add sugar; blend in flour (will have to mix in last part by hand.) Roll into oblong log shape, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight. Mix filling ingredients in a separate bowl. Beat egg whites in another bowl. Melt butter in another bowl. Cut dough into 4 equal pieces. On board sprinkle nut mixture and roll out one part into a 1/4 inch thick circle. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle more nut mixture on top. Cut into 12 wedges. Starting on outside edge (thick part) , roll into a crescent. Roll tight and dip top into egg white then into nuts. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 15 to 20 minutes. Be careful not to burn bottoms.
