1 c. margarine
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
2 T. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1 (12-oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine, sugars and eggs till fluffy. Add vanilla. Add soda to warm water stir till dissolved. Add to first mixture with salt. Stir in flour until blended. Fold in chips. Refrigerate a few hours. Drop on cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes in 350º oven.

I sometimes add pecans, amount depends on personal taste (1/2 to 3/4 c. chopped fine). Also dough doesn't have to be refrigerated before baking.


These were a grand kid favorite. You always knew there would be some kind of cookies waiting at grandma's
