3 oz pkg of cream cheese, soft
1/2 C butter, soft
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla, almond, rum, or
peppermint flavoring
1 2/3 C flour

Directions:
Directions:
combine all ingredients except flour. Stir by hand until well blended. Lightly spoon flour into cheese mixture, stirring until dough forms a ball. Shape dough on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º until edges are brown. Thin shapes 10-15 minutes, thick shapes, 15-22 minutes. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Store cooled cookies and unfilled tarts lightly covered. Refrigerate leftover dough up to 2 weeks.
