Pork spare ribs
1 large can of sauerkraut or more depending on how many ribs.
Pepper to taste
Dumplings-follow dumpling recipe
Croutons:
3-4 slices bread lightly buttered on both sides

Directions:
Directions:
Mom cooked these 2 different ways.
1. Pepper ribs & brown. No salt because of sauerkraut. Put sauerkraut on top with juice, cover & bake @ 350º until tender.
2. Or you can put the ribs & sauerkraut in a covered kettle & simmer on stove until tender.
When about done, butter bread & cut into bite size pieces. Mix up your dumplings & boil in water. Start browning the croutons, stirring frequently. Strain dumplings when done & put in large bowl. Put croutons on top. Then put dumplings & croutons on your plate with the sauerkraut & spareribs over them. Yum!
