1/2 cup brown sugar, tightly packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1 cup salted mixed nuts, cut into large pieces
1 cup drained maraschino cherries cut in half
4 1/2 ounces milk chocolate candy bar, cut into small pieces
Brown Butter Frosting:
1/4 cup margarine
2 cup sifted confectioners sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk

Preheat oven to 325º
Add the brown sugar, white sugar, gradually to the margarine and cream thoroughly. Blend in the eggs, beat well after each, add the vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add the flour, salt and baking powder alternately with the milk.
Stir in the salted nuts, cherries, chocolate and pour into prepared 9 by 13 -inch cake pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes
Brown butter frosting:
Brown the margarine over medium heat until deep brown. Blend in the confectioners sugar, vanilla and milk, beat until smooth.
