2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup cold butter, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
1 1/3 cups grated old cheddar cheese, divided
1/2 cup 2 % milk
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives

Directions:

In large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in 1 cup cheese.

In small bowl, whisk together milk, buttermilk and egg; stir in chives. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and gently mix together to form a soft dough.

Using a 1/4 cup scoop, drop batter onto greased baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Sprinkle tops with remaining 1/3 cup cheese. Bake at 400º for 15 to 18 minutes.
