4 eggs separated (save whites from 2)
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2/3 cup cocoa
1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk (can use 4 tsp. vinegar and 1 cup evaporated milk)

Icing:

7 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1 cup shortening
2 egg whites
3 tlb. flour
4 tlb. milk
1 tlb. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
blend all ingredients except flour,baking powder and baking soda, when mixed well, gradually add dry ingredients.

Bake 357 for 10 minutes

Icing:
Mix all ingredients well
