Rhubarb Cake Recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 t. salt
1 t. soda in 1 c. sour milk (add 2 t. vinegar to 1 c. milk)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. plus 1 T. flour
3 c. rhubarb, cut fine
1/4 c. colored candy sprinkles - red

Cream shortening, add sugar and mix well. Add salt and beat in egg. Add soda and milk mixture alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in candy sprinkles and rhubarb. Pour into 9 X 13 pan. Mix topping:
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. nuts
1 t. cinnamon
Sprinkle over cake batter. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
