2 cups pumpkin
2 cups sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
3 eggs, well beaten
2 cups cream
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 stick margarine or butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour and spices together. Add pumpkin, cream, eggs, and vanilla. Melt margarine and add. Mix well. Pour into 2 pie shells. Bake until brown or about 40 minutes at 400.

Mom made pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving and sometimes Christmas. She used the same recipe for cushaw pie, which tastes very similar. Cushaw is a squash, and Mom preferred it to pumpkin. Grandma Buchanan used to raise them, and she would give one to Mom for her holiday pie making.
