1/2 cup butter or oleo
1/2 cup milk
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups quick oatmeal
1 cup coconut
5 or 6 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
nutmeats (optional)

Mix first three ingredients together and boil one minute only. Add remaining ingredients mixing well. Drop on waxed paper. Let cool
