DOUGH: FILLING:
1 c. sour cream 1 lb. raisins
2 eggs 1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour 1 Tbsp. flour/cornstarch
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

DOUGH: Cream eggs, shortening, and sugar. Add sour cream and blend. Add soda salt and 1 c. of flour and blend. Slowly add remaining flour and blend. FILLING: Boil ingredients together in a saucepan until raisins are plump.
Roll dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 or 1/3 inch thick. Cut into circles. Place 1-2 Tbsp. filling on a circle. Add another circle to make the top. Pinch the sides together. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.

My grandma, Christie Bastian, made these cookies and we loved them. Hers were especially unique because she had rheumatoid arthritis and couldn't pinch the sides together with her fingers. Instead she used a straw and pushed the sides together so they had a unique design.
