Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
2. Season your ribs with your favorite rib rub or simply salt and pepper.
3. Place ribs, meat side down, in baking dishes.
4. Cover the baking dishes with aluminum foil and place in the oven.
5. Bake in the oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
6. While the ribs are cooking, make the barbecue sauce.
7. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
8. Cook and stir the onions in oil for 5 minutes.
9. Stir in water, tomato paste, vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.
10. Season with 2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, liquid smoke, whiskey, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dark molasses, and 1/2 tablespoon ground chili pepper.
11. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat.
12. Simmer for 1 1/4 hours, uncovered, or until sauce thickens.
13. Remove from heat, and set sauce aside.
14. After ribs are done cooking, drain off the drippings. Flip the ribs over using two spatulas so the meat side is up. Be careful, as they may be so tender they fall apart.
15. Put a layer of BBQ sauce on the ribs and return to the oven uncovered for an additional 20 - 30 minutes.

Personal Notes:
These are the best oven baked ribs you will ever taste. The meat falls off the bone and the sauce is amazing. We usually serve these as a birthday treat for Mom.
