5-6 lb. fresh brisket of beef
salt and pepper
Sauce:
2 medium onions
4 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. water
2 c. catsup
1/2 c. lemon juice
4 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. vinegar
6 tbsp. Worchestershire sauce
3 tsp. dry mustard

Directions:
Directions:
Place brisket in large baking pan, cover with foil and bake at 275º for about 5 hours. For the sauce: saute chopped onion in butter. Add water, catsup, lemon juice, brown sugar, vinegar, Worchestershire sauce and mustard. Simmer for 30 minutes. After 5 hours of cooking brisket, remove from pan. Pour off fat and trim fat from meat. Slice meat in thin slices and put back in pan. Pour half of sauce over meat. Bake uncovered 1/2 an hour. Turn slices throughout halfway through cooking. Add rest of sauce and cook another 1/2 hour.
