Gingerbread Cookies Recipe

1 cup margarine or butter
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup unsulphered molasses
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, then add sugar, then molasses. Beat egg off to the side in same bowl, then add vanilla. Mix all briefly. Add flour and spices and baking soda. Don't over beat.

Refrigerate for an hour.

Roll out, and place on ungreased sheet.

Bake at 325 for 8 minutes.
