2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut shortening till like coarse crumbs. Make a well; add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork just till dough follows fork around bowl. Turn onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10-12 strokes. Roll or pat dough 1/2" thick. Dip 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter straight down (can also use top of glass). Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450º about 12 minutes.

Drop Biscuits - Increase milk to 1 cup. Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake as directed above.

Biscuits Supreme - Change ingredients to 2 c flour, 4 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt & cream of tartar, 2 tsp sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 2/3 cup milk. Prepare and bake as above.
